Crestview is growing-most notably in the category of wall dècor. Seizing multiple opportunities has enabled Crestview Collection to concentrate on expanding its assortment this year, and in turn, increase the company's value to retail customers. Crestview Collection is already seeing good results, according to Vice-President Bryan Williams.
"With the market having its challenges over the first quarter, we actually came out of the winter shows with a very positive and energized attitude. We've identified some real opportunities and had good response to our introductions," Williams reports.
With greater attention being paid to wall dècor, in particular, Crestview Collection is able to offer a complete presentation to customers, Williams adds. The company is now dedicating more showroom space and added resources to this important category, and plans to introduce some incentive programs to entice its customers.
This strong commitment to expanding its offering has resulted in the addition of two new members to the Crestview team. Industry veteran Tom Pruett has been brought in to head the wall dècor division, which will include everything from metal art to canvas and framed prints. New to the design team is Carole Harder, who has taken the lead on accent furniture, lighting and some accessories.
"Carole has the unique ability to take projects from conception, all the way to completion," Williams explains. "She's seen as a key component in our sourcing."
As Williams points out, there are three key categories within wall dècor: Dimensional, Landscapes and Vivid Color. It also includes alternative wall dècor, which features metal, mirrored and shadow box products, as well as traditional framed art and stretch canvas.
"Each of these are strong areas, but because people are a little more adventurous with wall dècor, these pieces are more fashion-driven than any other aspect of our company," Williams says.
